Aberdeen, once home to the largest boat dwelling population in Hong Kong, has been transformed.

With the depletion of fish, cost of fishing in Hong Kong waters and the rise of fisheries in Southern China, Aberdeen Floating Village community has reduced as people left for work and public housing on land.

Of those still working on the harbour, most derive their work from tourism.
